I have to admit it- I’m an Oprah fan. Most of the time it depends on my mood and what the topic is, but thanks to the wonderful technology of DVR’s, I don’t have to worry about that decision until late at night when I’m in bed and feel like watching.
One of the shows she had that was on a couple of weeks ago featured the author Brian L. Weiss, M.D who wrote the book Many Lives, Many Masters. He is a psychiatrist who does hypnosis and past life regression. I had actually heard of this book but hadn’t ever thought about reading it until I watched this episode. In addition to a couple of guests on the show Dr. Weiss also hypnotized Dr. Oz (Oprah’s resident medical expert and a pretty ’scientific’ guy- I always watch the episodes w/Dr. Oz). It was pretty fascinating to see this very traditional doctor do something like this and put some faith in it. It was also amazing to hear a couple of the guests on the show and watch parts of the video showing their sessions and to hear afterwards what had changed in their lives because of the work with Dr. Weiss.
I started reading the book yesterday and CAN’T put it down! I’m about to go read a little more when I’m finished with this post. I love non-fiction books that read like novels. It’s the true story of Dr. Weiss’ first patient he worked with using Past-Life therapy. It’s not just the past lives that she remembers that are interesting- it’s what happens in between.
This is a great read- especially for fans of Abraham (Esther and Jerry Hicks).
