What do you do when you are moving in the right direction in your own life, but things around you seem to be going off in a million different directions? Staying grounded seems to be one of my biggest challenges. I have found that it is something that I have to consciously work at every day. I’ve started listening to a meditation that someone else did with me/for me everyday. It helps to remind me that when other people in my life have their own challenges to deal with, I’m actually more help to them when I’m firmly planted in my own life, living on purpose and creating as much positive energy for myself. Sometimes we can’t do anything Read More »
Have you ever noticed that you can read the same message (maybe by different authors, but the same none the less), or hear the same message (and in my case in would be because I listened to the same authors I read) a million times- but some messages take a lot longer than others to sink in? This was sort of my brick upside the head, A ha moment I had over the last couple of days about the simple Art of Allowing.
I’ve been reading about the Law of Attraction, The Art of Allowing (not just the books by Esther & Jerry Hicks, although they’re great and I highly recommend them), manifesting, etc. for a while now. What I finally realized yesterday though is what many of these teachers/authors have been saying all along. And that is that you can’t always be doing something to get to where you’re going. Sometimes you have to relax Read More »
Wow- I didn’t realize it had been almost 10 days since my last post! Well, I do have a lot of things going on and definitely have plenty to share.
The biggest thing I seem to be dealing with these days is how to stay focused. Because I’m such an information junkie I usually have quite a few things going on at a time, which keeps me busy, but not necessarily focused on the right thing. Most of the things I’m doing are all getting me closer to my goal (building my online business), but I think I could be getting there much quicker with some dedicated time to specific tasks and staying focused during my allotted time. I’ve started using a printed schedule which breaks the day down by the hour and leaves a place for notes. It’s two days at a time- I get a lot more accomplished when I’ve planned out my day early in the morning and stick to my schedule. As much as like having multiple things going on at a time, just like everyone else, Read More »
I think anyone who knows me would probably consider me to be somewhat of an optimist- even during some of my more challenging times in my life. With so much information out there now about the Law of Attraction, manifesting, positive thinking, etc., I just thought I ought to share what’s been going on in my life lately.
I’ve been working on getting this website up as well as a few other websites- and have found myself completely consumed by what I’m doing! I would have to say this is the first time in my life where I’ve felt the way I’m feeling about what it is I’m doing. I’ve enjoyed other jobs before (whether they were through self-employment or being employed), but nothing has ever felt as right as this. Because I am so focused on what I’m doing and am simply enjoying the process- some pretty interesting things Read More »
First off, a very Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s out there. We actually celebrated Father’s Day with my family yesterday- we had a barbeque, swam and just enjoyed the nice summer weather ( getting a little too nice- it was pretty hot. But I’m not complaining- I LOVE summer!). I had a couple of moments yesterday that just made me sit back and realize how fortunate I am for the people in my life- and my Dad is definitely one of them. We spent the better part of the morning putting together my new BBQ- although we shook hands prior to starting, agreeing we wouldn’t argue or get frustrated with one another (we tend to butt heads…..probably just because we’re both so head strong!). Towards the end of the assembling (which went smoothly- even though we were roasting in the garage), my son came in to help us. I had to stop and get the camera to take a few pictures of my Dad and son, working peacefully next to one another, feeling so grateful that my Dad has never complained about being more than just a grandfather to my kids (who lost their father 5 years ago). It brings me such joy to see the pleasure he takes in just spending time with all of his grandchildren.
I’m also fortunate enough to have my maternal grandfather here as well. Both my grandmother and grandfather are still here and came over to enjoy the day with us yesterday. They’re 83 and 85. My grandfather even got in the pool to cool off and enjoyed a little bit of a swim with us. It’s always so fun to see the kids get so excited whenever one of the adults gets in to swim- at one point, all the guys were in the pool with all the kids (my dad, uncle, brother and grandfather). It was truly a day to appreciate the simple things in life- for which I’m very grateful.
So I finished the book, Many Lives, Many Masters, by Brian Weiss. Unfortunately, I loved it so much that I gave the book to my mom to read before I could quote a few things I wanted to share here. There’s definitely something about this book that grabbed me and took a hold of me. I’ve already ordered another one of his books through Amazon (the bookstore was out) and am anxiously awaiting it. I did however find another one of his books with called Mirrors of Time- Using Regression for Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Healing. It included a past-life regression CD. I put the CD in at night before I went to bed, which probably wasn’t the best idea (it creeped me out a bit- especially when my bedroom door slammed shut….the wind, but it still threw me). I don’t remember much of it because I fell asleep (Brian Weiss has a very soothing voice)- but I had some VERY strange dreams that night. One actually woke me up- the kind where you have to lay still for a moment and remind yourself it was just a dream. I’m going to try it again when I’m not so tired- in the daytime.
What I really wanted to share were some of the lessons that Brian Weiss received through his patient from the Masters. The messages were intended for him. He also had some dreams after he stopped treating the patient who started him on this journey which were extremely profound. I’ll be picking up another copy of the book to share something a little more ’specific’ tomorrow!
I have to admit it- I’m an Oprah fan. Most of the time it depends on my mood and what the topic is, but thanks to the wonderful technology of DVR’s, I don’t have to worry about that decision until late at night when I’m in bed and feel like watching.
One of the shows she had that was on a couple of weeks ago featured the author Brian L. Weiss, M.D who wrote the book Many Lives, Many Masters. He is a psychiatrist who does hypnosis and past life regression. I had actually heard of this book but hadn’t ever thought about reading it until I watched this episode. In addition to a couple of guests on the show Dr. Weiss also Read More »
